The UW IDL was part of a team of consultants including NEEA, Solarc Energy Group, and Integrated Design Lab-Boise that developed Spark, a free online tool for leased commercial office building projects considering a deep energy retrofit.
Spark quickly estimates the economic and energy costs of building renewal projects, providing an early assessment of the integrated project costs and financial benefits of a deep energy retrofit. It lays out a roadmap of suggested measures and next steps for a building renewal project.
The UW IDL is currently working with Seattle’s Office of Sustainability & Environment (OSE) to integrate Spark as an assessment tool into the Building Tune-Up Accelerator program.
